On the afternoon of January 23, two smoky fires in the center of Vung Tau ward (HCMC) were quickly controlled and extinguished by functional agencies.
Previously, at about 2:30 pm, a fire broke out in a vacant area fenced with corrugated iron on the new Thong Nhat street. Black smoke billowed up, obscuring a large space, accompanied by an unpleasant pungent smell, along with ash and dust blown out by the wind, affecting households living nearby.
Functional forces quickly arrived to protect the scene, mobilize vehicles to extinguish the fire; guide vehicles to travel in other directions to ensure safety. Initial determination is that this fire did not cause any casualties or property damage.

However, when this fire was just extinguished, another fire continued to break out in the land opposite Vung Tau market (also known as Cho Moi), creating thick black smoke rising high. Functional agencies continued to block Nam Ky Khoi Nghia street (section opposite Cho Moi) and Ta Uyen street to put out the fire.
Initially, the fire was controlled and is being sprayed with water by the force to prevent the fire from spreading and rekindling. The cause of the fires is also being verified and clarified.
