The fire broke out on the evening of March 20 at a prominent hill near Tau Mountain in Tuy Phong District, Binh Thuan Province. The location of the burnt hill is along National Highway 1. According to records, many fire spots appeared on the hills.

At this time, there were strong winds and many dry trees on the hill, so the fire spread quickly. In the middle of the night, the fire spread to brighten the entire hill and was easily seen from afar. Fire prevention and rescue police forces, specialized vehicles and police forces were present at the scene to deploy fire fighting.

It is known that the hill is made of lentils blooming bright purple flowers in the blooming season, attracting tourists traveling on National Highway 1 to stop their vehicles to take photos.
