According to local residents, the fire broke out late on January 19 on Tran Binh Trong Street, Ward 5, Binh Thanh District. The house on fire was about 80 square meters wide and had 4 floors.
During the fire, because the door was closed, the neighbors climbed onto the roof to pull the water hose and use mini fire extinguishers to put out the fire, but were unsuccessful. The fire then flared up from the first floor to the third floor and spread to the power lines in front of the house.
Upon receiving the news, many fire trucks, more than 20 firefighters and ambulances were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters broke down the roller shutters, used hoses to put out the fire, and entered the floors to prevent anyone from being trapped.
Another group of firefighters fought to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring homes. According to the investigation, there were no casualties, but much of the property in the house was destroyed. The front part of the floors were burned to the steel frame, and many air conditioner condensers were melted.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the police.
