At that time, the mechanics of LC Buffalo Co., Ltd. (specialized in producing cashew oil) were on duty to maintain the company's boiler. While they were doing maintenance, a boiler suddenly exploded , then caught fire.
At the scene, the fire spread very quickly to the company's factory areas, causing workers to flee in panic. The incident was quickly reported to the authorities.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Binh Phuoc Provincial Police dispatched many fire engines and dozens of officers and soldiers to quickly arrive at the scene to extinguish the fire.

Binh Phuoc Provincial Police said the explosion left two people dead and one injured. The deceased victim was identified as NVT (born in 1982, residing in hamlet 3, Tien Hung commune) and NVTh (born in 1992, from Quang Binh province, temporarily residing in Dong Phu district).
