Initial information, the fire broke out at around 9:00 a.m. on May 8 at Mlem restaurant on April 1 Street, Cat Ba town.
As soon as the news was received, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police of Hai Phong City Police mobilized forces and fire fighting equipment to the scene, coordinating with local forces to deploy a fire fighting plan. At around 10am the same day, the fire was extinguished.
Talking to Lao Dong, a leader of Cat Hai District People's Committee said that at the time of the fire, there were 3 people in the restaurant, 2 of whom suffered minor smoke inhalation, and their health is now stable and they are still being monitored at Cat Hai Medical Center. One person was seriously injured and was taken to a higher-level hospital for emergency treatment.
It is known that at the time of the fire, the restaurant had not yet been put into operation and was under repair.
The cause of the incident is being investigated and clarified by the authorities.
