At about 1:30 PM on January 22nd, a melaleuca forest fire occurred in Binh Thanh commune, Tay Ninh province.
According to a quick report from the Binh Thanh Commune Military Command, the fire area is about 1.5km from Provincial Road 839. The initial cause was determined to be that some subjects entered the forest to set fire to catch and take honey. During the implementation, the subjects could not control the fire, allowing it to spread to the surrounding area and then leave the scene. Functional agencies are continuing to verify and clarify.

Immediately after discovering the incident, forces were urgently mobilized to participate in fighting the fire, including police, grassroots security and order forces, militia of Binh Thanh commune, officers and soldiers of the Military Command of Duc Hue commune and officers and employees of the Relic Site.
Vehicles and equipment such as pumps, fire hoses and specialized materials are deployed to zone and control the fire, while protecting the safety of relics and property items.
By about 3:30 PM on the same day, the fire was basically controlled. The incident did not cause any casualties, the affected forest area is estimated at 1.5ha, mainly mixed melaleuca, dry leaves and vegetation.
