The Director of Quang Tri Provincial Police emphasized that Quang Tri Provincial Police have mobilized maximum forces and means to solve 3 key groups of tasks.

According to Major General Liem, first of all, the provincial police coordinated with the health sector to focus on treating the victims. The injured are being treated at the Provincial General Hospital and Huong Hoa Regional General Hospital.
With 3 deceased victims, including 2 Laotians and 1 Vietnamese, the provincial police have urgently completed the investigation, coordinated with the family and local authorities to arrange the funeral and support relatives.

The second task is to investigate and handle the scene. The Director of the Provincial Police emphasized that the current traffic volume is very large, people are in the banana harvest season, so there is a high risk of unsafety. Therefore, the authorities are increasing traffic flow, restoring order, and determined not to let encroachment on the roadway and sidewalk for agricultural products.
The third task is to coordinate with local authorities to arrange gathering locations, buy and sell bananas and other items, to facilitate people's consumption of agricultural products, while ensuring traffic safety.

Previously, at around 7:50 a.m. on September 17, a truck with license plate 37C-587.63 driven by Mr. Tran Minh Hoang (born in 1973, residing in Ho Chi Minh City) suddenly crashed into Tan Long market area, Lao Bao commune. The accident left 3 people dead on the spot and 9 injured. The driver and his accompanying person were determined to be negative for drugs and alcohol concentration.
The location of the accident was the market area, in front of the market was the intersection between National Highway 9 and Provincial Road 586. For a long time, this place has had many motorbikes standing in the middle of the road and overflowing to the market to buy and sell bananas. Although this poses a high risk of traffic accidents, the locality has not yet built a suitable location for people to move there to do business.
