On September 17, in Hanoi, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh attended and gave a speech at the 7th plenary session of the Law and Justice Committee.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh said that from the beginning of the term to the end of the 9th Session, the Law and Justice Committee chaired 25/99 laws (accounting for 25.25% of the number of draft laws passed by the 15th National Assembly) along with many important resolutions and Orders.
In particular, the amendment and supplementation of a number of articles of the 2013 Constitution approved by the National Assembly with 100% of the National Assembly deputies present in favor is a rare milestone in the history of the National Assembly.
At the upcoming 10th Session, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly said that there are expected to be 53 legislative tasks, including 50 draft laws (47 draft laws submitted by the Government; 3 draft laws submitted by the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy) and 3 draft Resolutions of the National Assembly.
In which, the Law and Justice Committee will be responsible for presiding over submitting to the National Assembly for consideration and voting to pass 15/53 laws, accounting for 28.3%.
The Committee also must review the Government's work report for the 2021-2026 term; reports from the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy; and reports in the judicial field.
According to the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, it is expected that at the end of September 2025, a full-time National Assembly Delegation Conference will be held to give opinions on draft laws.
At the upcoming session, the National Assembly will not discuss each draft law but will discuss it in groups of laws, which will help save time and improve the quality and efficiency of the session.
Regarding questioning activities at the final session of the term, National Assembly deputies will send written questions, the Government and ministries and branches will respond before the session.
At the Hall, the National Assembly will discuss the summary report, instead of conducting questions and answering questions directly like at previous sessions.
Emphasizing that there is not much time left from now until the end of the term, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh suggested that the Law and Justice Committee should continue to promote a sense of responsibility, spend time focusing on work to prepare well for the 10th Session with the spirit of "not leaving unfinished work for the 16th tenure".
