On June 3, in a quick exchange with Lao Dong reporter, a leader in charge of the field of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Can Tho City said that the process of handling sick pork in Vietnam is strictly regulated. The goal is to control epidemics, ensure food safety and protect public health. Accordingly, pigs are animals on land, included in the list of animals that must be quarantined.

Accordingly, the process of treating sick pork is implemented according to Circular 07/2016/TT-BNNPTNT. Here are the basic steps:
detection and declaration
owners of livestock/livestock establishments, when discovering pigs showing signs of disease or having died from infectious diseases, must immediately report to the local veterinary management agency. Hiding, not reporting or not reporting in time is an act prohibited under the Veterinary Law.
The veterinary agency will then receive information, conduct verification, examination and assessment of the epidemic situation.
On-site treatment and isolation
For pigs with the disease, which are likely to spread quickly and cause great damage, they must be destroyed immediately.
Compulsory slaughter: In some cases, healthy pigs in the same flock as sick pigs may be encouraged to be slaughtered on the spot and consumed under the close supervision of veterinary agencies. However, it is necessary to ensure that they do not spread the disease. pigs with serious illnesses will be destroyed, and pigs with signs of illness will be kept quarantined for monitoring.
For pigs that have not been infected in the epidemic area, they must be completely isolated to closely monitor the disease.

Destroying measures
interment: The pit is wide enough to accommodate the amount of animals to be buried. The burial pit is covered with lime powder, containers, and pesticides. For Nhiet Than, concrete must be poured into the burial pit according to regulations.
Burning: burning with a specialized furnace or burning by digging holes, putting animal carcasses and animal products in the holes and burning with firewood, coal, straw, rice, gasoline, oil... then filling with soil and tightly.
