Victory creates the premise for liberating the South
At the end of 1974 and the beginning of 1975, with the support of the Central Government, the army and people of Binh Phuoc participated in the 14 - Phuoc Long road campaign.
Consecutive campaigns to completely liberate Bu Dang district on December 14, 1974, liberate Dong Xoai on December 26, whole of 7. On January 6, 1975, our army attacked and took control of the enemy's Ldingding Province of Phuoc Long and completely took control of a province in the South (Phuoc Long Province, now under Binh Phuoc Province).
The Phuoc Long victory has important strategic significance, for the first time a province in the South has been completely liberated. This is considered a " Strategic reconnaissance", creating a premise for the Politburo and the Central Government to make a decision and reduce the determination to completely liberate the South in the near future.
Promoting the victory, our army continued to consolidate and expand the liberated zone. On March 23, 1975, the enemy retreated to Chon Thanh, An Loc - the center of the province, Binh Long province was liberated.
On April 2, 1975, Chon Thanh was the last locality of Binh Long province to be liberated. Thereby, contributing to the army, people of the Southern provinces and key army groups advancing to liberate Saigon on April 30, 1975 .
According to the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of Binh Phuoc Provincial Party Committee, the province has organized a conference to collect opinions from historical witnesses, scientists and former provincial leaders to determine the date of provincial liberation. After that, it was agreed to choose March 23, 1975 - the day of the liberation of An Loc - the center of the province of Binh Long province - as the day of the liberation of Binh Phuoc province.

After the liberation day, the Party Committee, government, army and people of Phuoc Long quickly stabilized social order, carried out production recovery and economic development.
In memory, Mr. Dinh Ngoc Ngan - former Vice Chairman of Phuoc Long Town People's Committee, Chairman of Phuoc Long Town Veterans Association, said that he joined Phuoc Long Town Party Committee to work since 1987. At that time, Phuoc Long still had many difficulties, narrow roads, underdeveloped transportation, and a mostlyunished economy.
Overcoming difficulties, Phuoc Long has gradually transformed, deciding on key issues to build and develop the locality.
Up to now, the town's economy has developed and achieved many achievements, and people's lives have gradually improved. All economic indicators grew, exceeding the plan. In particular, by the end of 2024, Phuoc Long town had basically eliminated poor households.
Ms. Huynh Thi Thuy Trang - Secretary of Phuoc Long Town Party Committee said that Phuoc Long is oriented to become an ecological, civilized city, preserving identity. In particular, focusing on developing key industries, connecting with the logistics system to serve the needs of the entire northern region of Binh Phuoc province.
The recovery and development of Phuoc Long have contributed to the development of the socio-economy of Binh Phuoc province.
From a locality heavily devastated by war, a poor province, with a small economic scale, the scale of Binh Phuoc's economy has reached 115,357 billion VND.
In 2024, Binh Phuoc province recorded a GRDP growth rate of 9.32%, the highest in the Southeast region and 11th in the country.
Total import-export turnover has grown impressively, of which exports in 2024 will reach 4.6 billion USD, imports of 2.9 billion USD. Budget revenue reached 11,250 billion VND.
