The event organized by the Communications Committee of Quang Nam and Da Nang Newspapers (from 1975 to 1997) was a warm reunion of more than 200 journalists who have been attached to the land of Quang Nam - Da Nang since the liberation day until before 1997 (the time of separation of Quang Nam province and Da Nang city).
Attending the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee; Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Thuan Huu, former Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, former President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, along with many leaders and former leaders of press agencies in the Central - Central Highlands region, and veteran journalists.
Mr. Ngo Quy Nhon - former Editor-in-Chief of Quang Nam - Da Nang Newspaper, Head of the Communications Department - reviewed the profound memories in the journey of building the homeland of journalists. Mr. Nhon emphasized that despite the difficult circumstances after the war, the Quang Nam - Da Nang press has always received special attention from leaders and people, creating the best conditions to fulfill political tasks.
Over the past 50 years, Quang Nam - Da Nang press has accompanied the Party Committee, government and people in the work of healing the wounds of war, building and developing the socio-economy, strengthening national defense and security. Journalists have promoted the fine tradition of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press, constantly practicing moral qualities, and devoting all their heart to serving the homeland and country.
Mr. Nguyen Van Quang - Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee - respectfully acknowledged the great contributions of generations of journalists to the cause of building and developing the city. He expressed his deep gratitude to the veteran journalists who have made many contributions to propagating the Party's guidelines and the State's laws and policies.
At the meeting, generations of journalists reviewed memorable memories together, shared the joys and sorrows in life, and encouraged each other to continue to contribute to the development of their homeland and country. The Communications Department also presented life gifts to 30 veteran journalists aged 75 and over.
