3 communes in Lai Chau are being completely isolated due to floods
Lai Chau Provincial Police also said that heavy rain in recent days has caused many landslide points on key traffic routes, causing disruption and seriously affecting people's travel.
Muong Kim, Muong Than and Pac Ta communes are being isolated by road.
On National Highway 279, at Km167+450 in Chieng Ban village, Muong Kim commune, a serious landslide caused the entire road to be completely blocked.
Meanwhile, on National Highway 32, positions Km357, Km358 and Km359 in the area of Pac Ta and Muong Than communes also recorded a large amount of soil and rock from the mountainside falling due to flash floods, causing traffic to be cut off.

Up to now, functional forces have not been able to give an estimate of the traffic flow time due to the large volume of landslides and the complicated weather, posing a potential risk of further landslides.
Faced with the above situation, Lai Chau Provincial Police recommends that people absolutely do not move into areas that are experiencing landslides or at high risk of landslides.
People need to proactively monitor information from functional agencies, choose alternative routes or temporarily postpone their journey through the affected area until there is a safety assurance notice.

In addition, vehicles participating in traffic are requested to strictly comply with the guidance, regulation and traffic diversion of the Traffic Police force and functional forces on duty at the scene to ensure safety and create favorable conditions for recovery work.
Lai Chau Provincial Police are coordinating with departments, branches and local authorities to mobilize manpower and vehicles to clear soil and rocks, overcome the consequences of floods and quickly restore traffic on divided roads.
Functional agencies said that they will continue to update the developments of the flood situation and recovery progress on official information channels. At the same time, they recommend that people regularly monitor to proactively plan their travel, ensuring safety for themselves and their families.
