On July 18, information from the Lai Chau Provincial Department of Construction, after more than 2 days of focusing on overcoming a serious landslide point at Km76+250 on National Highway 12, traffic will resume at about 5-6 pm on July 18.
Previously, as Lao Dong newspaper reported, prolonged heavy rain caused a serious landslide, completely breaking the roadbed at Km76+250 on National Highway 12, passing through Le Loi commune (Lai Chau province).
The incident completely broke the roadbed and surface, causing traffic disruption on the route.

After the incident occurred, functional forces mobilized manpower and machinery to deploy remedial work.
At the same time, the Lai Chau Provincial Department of Construction organizes traffic diversion, which is implemented to ensure safe travel for people and vehicles.

With temporary travel routes, the distance from the center of Lai Chau to Dien Bien and vice versa has increased from 93 to 245km compared to the normal route (at the time National Highway 12 was not yet landslide-prone).
