Painful but must accept
On the evening of February 5, we were present at Mr. Thach Kha Mao's house in Long Thanh town, Duyen Hai district, Tra Vinh province. The space was as quiet as the sadness of the man who lost 4 billion because 2 lottery tickets that won the special prize were torn.
Mr. Thach Kha Mao said he was born in 1986, is a freelancer, does whatever he is hired to do. On the third day of Tet, he bought 10 lottery tickets, gave 8 to relatives and kept 2 for himself.
Then he put them in his pocket and went fishing and picking coconuts. In the afternoon, when he heard that he had won the special prize, he quickly looked for them and found that the two lottery tickets were torn.

"After being guided by a lottery agent to the Commune Police to get a certificate confirming that the two lottery tickets were torn, Mr. Mao hoped that Hau Giang Lottery Company would resolve the matter and pay the prize money. However, because the two lottery tickets were too torn to verify, he was not paid," Mr. Mao added.
Despite his regret, Mr. Mao said he had accepted the truth. “Seeing everyone receive their money made me quite sad, but I was also somewhat comforted because the winners also donated some money to support me,” Mr. Mao added.
Share the luck
After learning that Mr. Mao could not receive the prize because the lottery ticket was damaged, relatives who had received lottery tickets from him proactively contributed money to share with him.
"On the day of receiving the prize, seeing my brother sad, the family decided to use part of the prize money to pay off debt and send him 50 million VND," said Mr. Nguyen Van Tinh - a relative of Mr. Mao.
Mr. Mao's sister, Ms. Thach Kinh, also happily said: "Everyone has their own circumstances, but everyone tries to help my brother, sharing some of their luck. Hopefully this money will help him regain his spirit and have a better start."
