According to the decision, Mr. Tran Van Lau, Chairman of the City People's Committee, will be the Head of the Committee. The Deputy Heads of the Department include Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuan, Deputy Director of the Department of Health - Standing member of the Steering Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Nhi, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment and Mr. Tran Minh Kiet, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade.
The Steering Committee is responsible for advising the City People's Committee to direct departments, branches and localities to implement regulations and state management solutions on food safety; organize the implementation of the annual "Fod Safety Action Month", mobilizing the participation of Party committees at all levels, authorities, unions, social organizations and people.
Focus on disseminating and disseminating food safety laws to food production, processing, and trading establishments, food and street food services; instructing people on food hygiene, food processing safely, preventing food poisoning and food-related diseases.
The Steering Committee is also responsible for developing an annual plan for food safety, organizing professional training for localities; directing the Department of Health to coordinate in inspecting and supervising food production and trading establishments, food and beverage services, livestock and poultry slaughterhouses and strictly handling violations.
At the same time, report to the City People's Committee and the Ministry of Health on the implementation results, promptly propose to resolve arising problems.
