On May 14, the Hanoi People's Committee issued an official dispatch on checking press reports reflecting many illegal construction works encroaching on forest land in Tien Xuan commune, Thach That district. According to the press, although there has been a decision to enforce the construction, these works still exist.
Regarding this, the Chairman of the City People's Committee assigned the People's Committee of Thach That district to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to urgently inspect and clarify the information reported by the press, and strictly handle it according to the provisions of law.
At the same time, consider the responsibility of collectives and individuals according to Directive No. 24-CT/TU dated August 7, 2023 of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee "On strengthening discipline, discipline and responsibility for handling work in the City's political system" if violations occur; report to the City People's Committee on the implementation results before May 20, 2025.
Previously, the press reported the situation of a series of projects blatantly leveling and encroaching on forest land in Tien Xuan commune, Thach That district, causing public outrage.
According to the reflection, at the end of 2024, the People's Committee of Tien Xuan commune continuously drew up administrative violation records for the act of "converting production forest land to non-agricultural land (not residential land) without permission from competent State agencies"; administrative violation records for illegal construction of works... related to this project.
Although continuously making records and issuing notices of demolition of the violating works, the People's Committee of Tien Xuan commune did not take timely measures to prevent them, creating conditions for this violation to persist, turning them into a service business place.
