In the first 6 months of 2025, the traffic safety and order situation in Gia Lai province has had many positive changes. The authorities have increased patrols, controls, and strictly handled violations of traffic safety.
The effective exploitation and use of data from the traffic camera system has effectively supported the management and handling of violations. The process of handling violations is strictly implemented in the spirit of "no forbidden areas, no exceptions".
As a result, in 6 months, the authorities detected and handled more than 67,100 violations, fined more than 105 billion VND; revoked licenses and practice certificates for 4,226 cases and temporarily detained more than 6,100 vehicles of all kinds.

The whole province had 375 traffic accidents, killing 271 people and injuring 244 people. Compared to the same period in 2024, there was a decrease of 140 cases, an increase of 11 deaths and a decrease of 139 injuries.
Analysis shows that the victims are mainly men, the cause of which is not paying attention, driving on the wrong side of the road or going in the wrong direction, violating alcohol concentration while driving.
Despite many positive changes, the work of ensuring traffic safety and order in the area still has many complex factors. The situation of market gatherings and encroachment on the roadside causing traffic obstruction still occurs in many places. Accidents involving motorbikes and people under 18 years old and occurring in the late afternoon and evening still account for a high proportion. Some national highways, provincial roads, rural roads, railways... still have many unsafe locations.
Faced with the above situation, Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan requested communes and wards with a large number of deaths due to traffic accidents to review and carefully analyze the causes, especially errors caused by the awareness of drivers such as violating alcohol concentration, encroaching on lanes, lacking observation, etc., thereby proposing solutions to overcome them in the coming time.
Mr. Pham Anh Tuan also warned of the risk of increasing serious accidents in the coming time, especially related to sleeper buses, cargo trucks and tractors. Therefore, along with creating favorable conditions for transportation activities, the authorities need to strengthen inspection, review and strictly handle violations.
The Chairman of Gia Lai province assigned the Traffic Police Department of the province to launch general inspection peak periods, focusing on trucks, passenger cars, waterway vehicles and technology vehicles such as Grab, delivery vehicles, etc., especially during times when accidents often occur like between noon and night.
Educational institutions seriously implement traffic safety work in schools; principals of schools must take responsibility if students violate.
The Provincial Traffic Safety Committee coordinated with the Traffic Police Department to continue applying technology in traffic safety management. At the same time, review and handle traffic black spots and strictly inspect the operations of training, testing, and driving license issuance facilities to improve output quality and ensure safety for traffic participants.
