On August 6, the Market Management Department of Gia Lai province said that it had coordinated with the police force to inspect and discovered more than 4 tons of foul-smelling pork and fat of unknown origin.
Previously, on the afternoon of August 5, Market Management Team No. 4 (Gia Lai Market Management Department) inspected the pork trading location of Ms. Nguyen Thi T (born in 1980, residing in An Nhon Nam Ward).

Here, the authorities discovered 6 freezers containing a large amount of pork.
Ms. T confessed that all the meat was purchased from markets and slaughterhouses in the province, without invoices and documents, and was then classified and resold to food processing facilities for profit.
Ms. T also does not have a certificate of individual business registration.
Next, the authorities inspected the pork trading location of Q.V Food Trading Company Limited (next to Ms. T's house), represented by Mr. Nguyen Thai Q (born in 1972).
Here, the authorities discovered a large amount of pork stored in 7 freezers and 1 refrigerator.
This enterprise does not have a certificate of food hygiene and safety eligibility and trades in goods of unknown origin.
After inspecting 2 businesses, the authorities temporarily detained more than 4 tons of various types of pork and fat. All meat has a foul smell, does not comply with food safety regulations, and has the potential to affect human health and the environment.
For the violations, Ms. T will be fined 19.5 million VND and Q.V Company may be fined up to 69 million VND. Market Management Team No. 4 requested the violating establishments to destroy all of the above pork.
