HCMC - The Thoi An - Thanh Xuan inter-ward road, 4.5 km long, 40 m wide with 6 lanes, has just been assigned by the Chairman of the HCMC People's Committee to be implemented.

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc has just directed the implementation of the Resolution of the City People's Council on adjusting the investment policy for the project to build the old Lien Phuong Thoi An - Thanh Xuan road (route 2), in District 12.

The project is nearly 4.5 km long, with a cross-section of 40 m with 6 lanes, passing through a densely populated area. The total investment capital of the project is more than 3,563 billion VND.

To implement this, the City will reclaim land from 299 households, of which 222 households were cleared and 77 households were partially affected.

In addition to the main route, the project also has a section connecting to Le Thi Rieng Street about 200 m long and 30 m wide.

According to the plan, compensation, support and resettlement will take place throughout the first quarter to the fourth quarter of 2026.

The city will select a contractor for construction in the third and fourth quarters of 2026, starting construction at the end of 2026 and completing it by the end of 2027.

When put into operation, this Inter-ward route will become an important traffic axis, sharing traffic with existing routes, especially helping to reduce pressure on National Highway 1 from Binh Phuoc intersection to Ga intersection.

To ensure the project is implemented on schedule, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Traffic Board - investor) to closely coordinate with the People's Committee of Thoi An Ward to urgently adjust the zoning plan, ensuring the project is in accordance with the general plan approved by the Prime Minister.

Urgently carry out necessary work to implement compensation, support, resettlement, and site clearance to ensure compliance with the set schedule.

At the same time, the Traffic Department must develop a detailed plan, from the implementation progress, monthly capital disbursement to the handling plan when difficulties arise, and promptly report to the competent authority.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction is assigned to inspect and supervise the planning adjustment process, instruct the Traffic Department to urgently complete the dossier to submit to the City People's Council for balance and capital supplementation in 2025.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Finance advises and proposes to allocate sufficient capital according to schedule. The Department of Agriculture and Environment coordinates with units to guide compensation, support, resettlement and site clearance.

Thoi An Ward People's Committee will preside over and work with the Traffic Department to complete the adjustment and updating of related planning projects and submit them for approval before October 30, 2025.
