Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee has just issued a document on strengthening food safety assurance for collective kitchens and processing facilities, providing industrial meals.
The document stated: On July 20, the Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) reported on the situation and results of resolving workers' petitions at Amphenol High Speed Cable Vietnam Co., Ltd. related to the quality of lunch meals.
To strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of state management of food safety; strictly implement the provisions of the Law on Food Safety, guiding documents for implementation and related regulations; ensure the health of workers, prevent food poisoning and foodborne diseases, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Xuan Loi directed:
The Departments of Health, Industry and Trade, Agriculture and Environment shall preside over and coordinate with the Provincial Industrial Parks Management Board, People's Committees of communes and wards and relevant agencies to strengthen state management of food safety for collective kitchens, processing facilities, and industrial meal suppliers under their management.
Strengthen inspection, examination, and supervision of the compliance with legal regulations on food safety; pay attention to unscheduled inspections of establishments at high risk or with reflections and recommendations from employees, trade union organizations and related agencies and organizations; promptly detect, handle or propose competent authorities to strictly handle violations according to the provisions of law.
Guide and urge enterprises and processing facilities, providing industrial meals to fully implement regulations on food safety assurance conditions; strengthen control of the origin of food raw materials, processing, preservation, transportation, sampling of food and food safety assurance conditions according to regulations.
When food safety incidents occur, urgently coordinate to investigate, determine the cause, and handle them according to regulations; promptly report to the Provincial People's Committee issues beyond their authority.
In addition, businesses in the province need to strictly implement the provisions of law on food safety; be responsible before the law for the quality and safety of food serving workers.
Selecting processing facilities, providing industrial meals, and food ingredients supplying facilities that fully meet the conditions according to regulations; implementing control of the origin of raw materials, storing food samples, health checks of people directly processing food and food safety assurance conditions according to the provisions of law.
Regularly self-inspect and evaluate the compliance with food safety regulations; proactively and promptly overcome existing shortcomings and limitations; strengthen dialogue, receive and handle feedback and recommendations from workers related to the quality of lunch meals; build a safe working environment, ensuring workers' health.
Encourage the establishment or maintenance of a coordination mechanism between employers and trade union organizations in monitoring the quality of lunch meals, receiving and promptly resolving feedback from workers.
