According to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, a series of trees that were previously dead after being planted on both sides of National Highway 15B have now had their trunks cut off, creating many gaps between the living trees.
According to the reporter's investigation, the dead trees were cut down before the Lunar New Year. It was thought that after cutting, in the spring the weather would be cool and suitable for planting trees, so the dead trees would be planted instead, but so far the competent unit has not seen any additional planting.

Mr. Nguyen Van Huong - Chairman of the People's Committee of Viet Tien Commune - shared that many trees in the Project to plant trees on both sides of National Highway 15B through Viet Tien Commune have died and look shabby, affecting the aesthetics, hoping that relevant units will soon plant additional trees to create an environmental landscape and ensure aesthetics on the route to the Dong Loc Intersection National Special Historical Site.
On the afternoon of March 22, Mr. Ngo Duc Quy - Director of the Thach Ha District Construction Investment Project Management Board - said that the Board has contacted the winning bidder to request additional planting of dead trees, and they will soon start planting additional trees.
In early November 2024, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that on National Highway 15B from Giang Intersection connecting with National Highway 1 to Viet Tien Commune (Thach Ha District) with a length of about 3km, many newly planted Lat trees have died.

According to the Thach Ha District Construction Investment Project Management Board, the Lat tree planting project on National Highway 15B from Giang Intersection to Viet Tien Commune is over 3km long and is invested by the People's Committee of Thach Ha District.
The project has a total cost of 7 billion VND. After organizing the bidding, Tay Nam Bo Company won the bid and planted about 600 Lat trees since 2022.
The project was completed and handed over in April 2023, however, before the warranty period expired in April 2024, the investor conducted an inspection and discovered that more than 100 trees had died, so he requested Tay Nam Bo Company to plant them instead.
After that, this enterprise replanted more than 100 dead trees in April 2024. However, after planting, most of these replanted crops died.
The reason for the tree death, according to a leader of the Thach Ha District Construction Investment Project Management Board, may be due to soil conditions and climate that are not suitable for Lat trees because in some other localities in the province, Lat trees also died a lot after being planted. It is also possible that the planting time is in the hot season, so the rate of raw trees is low.

A representative of the Thach Ha District Construction Investment Project Management Board affirmed that they will contact the winning bidder to request the early planting of additional dead trees.
