A business was fined 40 million VND and required to plant new trees after cutting down trees without permission.

On December 14, the People's Committee of Ba Dinh District (Hanoi) announced that the district had issued Decision No. 3897/QD-XPHC to impose administrative sanctions on Construction Investment and Consulting Joint Stock Company 306.

Accordingly, when renovating the drainage system to resolve the waterlogging, congestion, and pollution in the area of buildings A3-A4-A5 of Thanh Cong collective, the construction unit arbitrarily cut down trees (1 banyan tree with a root diameter of about 20cm, 5 mulberry trees with a root diameter of about 10cm) that were stuck in the drainage system without permission from the competent authority to cut down and move them.

The People's Committee of Ba Dinh District has issued a decision to administratively fine the construction unit VND 40,000,000, and has requested to replant and replace them with urban trees (6 Taiwanese banyan trees).

According to this decision, if the Company fails to voluntarily comply within the deadline, it will be forced to comply according to the provisions of law. The Company has 10 days to pay the fine within 10 days from the date of receipt of this decision.
