Attending the seminar were Mr. Chu Pham Ngoc Hien - former Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Chairman of Vietnam Association of Clean Water and Environment; Mr. Le Duc Giang - Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa People's Committee, representative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, leaders of relevant departments of the provinces in the North Central region and leading experts in the field of environment.
Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Chu Pham Ngoc Hien - Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Clean Water and Environment said that green transformation is not only an inevitable trend but also an urgent requirement in the context of the world facing great challenges from climate change, environmental pollution and depletion of natural resources.
For the North Central region, it is a land with a strategic geographical location, rich in potential for developing a marine economy, sustainable agriculture and renewable energy. Green transformation will create a strong driving force to promote economic growth, improve the quality of the living environment and ensure sustainable development.
“Being aware of that role, the Vietnam Clean Water and Environment Association has cooperated with the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province and relevant agencies to organize the seminar, thereby assessing the situation of green transformation in the North Central region, the achievements have achieved as well as the difficulties and challenges that local and businesses are facing; discussing policies and support mechanisms from the central and local economic development process; The pioneering career and model in green conversion from which to be replicated and implemented more effectively ” - Mr. Chu Pham Ngoc Hien shared.
At the workshop, delegates focused on analyzing and evaluating the advantages, difficulties, advantages and potentials, thereby proposing many solutions for green transformation in the coming time.
Speaking at the workshop, MSc. Le Thi Minh Anh - Department of Environment, Ministry of Agriculture and Environment said that green transformation is a comprehensive transition to a green, low-emission economy towards the goal of prosperity and sustainability.
The green growth strategy has a general goal of promoting economic restructuring associated with growth model innovation, towards a green, carbon-neutral economy and contributing to the goal of limiting global temperature increase and focusing on restructuring the economy towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions, using natural resources and energy economically, developing sustainable infrastructure, building a green lifestyle.
