On December 3, information from the Department of Health of Soc Trang province said that, immediately after receiving the directive document of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province requesting the Department of Health to direct the inspection and examination of law compliance in medical examination and treatment activities for cosmetic establishments according to citizens' feedback; strictly handle violations of the law (if any), the unit deployed to establish an interdisciplinary inspection team to conduct an inspection of PAPU Cosmetic Institute.
Regarding the operating license of this facility, the Department of Health of Soc Trang province informed: On April 26, 2024, the unit received an application for a license to operate medical examination and treatment from the PAPU Aesthetic Institute Business Household, registered by Ms. Phan Thi Truc Phuong as the professional manager.
In July 2024, after reviewing the application, the Soc Trang Provincial Department of Health issued an official dispatch stating that it did not meet the conditions for granting a license to practice medicine. The reason was that Ms. Phuong had not practiced within the registered scope for at least 36 months (she had only practiced for nearly 8 months).
Ms. Phuong has a practice certificate issued by the Soc Trang Department of Health on December 5, 2023. The practice certificate clearly states that Ms. Phuong's professional qualification is medical doctor. The scope of professional activities is participating in first aid, medical examination and treatment according to the provisions of Joint Circular No. 10/2015 of the Ministry of Health - Ministry of Home Affairs.
Previously, as Lao Dong reported, the People's Committee of Soc Trang province received people's complaints about the Phuong Spa facility (later renamed PAPU Aesthetic Institute - located at Hamlet 6, Ward 6, Soc Trang City) performing rhinoplasty, rhinoplasty surgery, prescribing medication... without a license to operate medical examination and treatment from a competent authority, affecting people's health.
