On February 6, Kien Giang Provincial Police held a conference to implement Plan No. 03-KH/BCD dated December 6, 2024 of the Provincial Party Committee's Steering Committee for "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses".
Speaking at the conference, Colonel Nguyen Van Han - Director of the Provincial Police emphasized the importance of this Plan to achieve the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, improving the quality of life for people, especially poor households and families in difficult circumstances. This is one of the key tasks assigned by the Provincial Party Committee to all levels and sectors, including the police force, contributing to the construction, development and stability of local society.
Colonel Nguyen Van Han requested the Police units, especially the Police of districts and cities, to focus on synchronously implementing solutions, closely coordinating with relevant agencies, departments and sectors to effectively implement the Plan, ensuring that the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses is not only a material issue but also a deep concern for social security. The police force must set an example in mobilizing and supporting households, participating in building housing models, helping people escape poverty, and stabilize their lives.
According to the plan, the Provincial Police Party Committee registered to implement 600 units, of which 593 new units were built and 7 were repaired. The implementation will focus on districts and communes with high rates of temporary and dilapidated houses, while organizing surveys and assessing the actual situation, thereby providing specific solutions suitable for each locality. The police units will directly participate in reviewing and identifying households that need support, and coordinating with mass organizations and local authorities to organize support activities, build houses, and help people have stable housing, ensuring safety and sustainability.
The conference also received many comments from the leaders of the Police of units and localities, focusing on strengthening propaganda work and raising people's awareness of the goals and meanings of the program. The leaders of the Police of districts, towns and cities proposed measures to ensure the progress of implementation, and shared experiences in mobilizing people to participate in housing construction activities.
Concluding the Conference, Colonel Nguyen Van Han suggested that units and localities should focus highly on the implementation of the Plan, ensuring the achievement of the set goals. The Provincial Police will continue to closely direct, inspect and urge units and localities, and at the same time create favorable conditions to complete the task of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses as soon as possible, contributing to the implementation of the Provincial Party Committee's social security program.
