On the morning of July 9, Dien Bien Provincial Police held a ceremony to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People's Security Forces (July 12, 1946 - July 12, 2026).
At the anniversary ceremony, delegates reviewed the 80-year journey of building, fighting and growing up of the People's Security Forces and 73 years of building, fighting and growing up of the Provincial Police Security Forces since their establishment.
From more than 20 officers in the early days of establishment, to now, the Dien Bien Public Security Force has continuously grown stronger, proactively advising on maintaining the stability of the strategic area; fighting and defeating the conspiracy to establish the "Mong State".
At the same time, dismantling many reactionary organizations, maintaining security in ethnic and religious areas, absolutely protecting the safety of important political goals and events; expanding cooperation with the Police of 6 northern provinces of Laos and Yunnan province (China), effectively fighting against all kinds of crimes.

With the achievements, 1 unit has been awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces, 14 collectives and hundreds of individuals have been awarded medals of all kinds, and thousands of officers and soldiers have been commended at all levels.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Tien Dung - Secretary of Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee acknowledged and praised the achievements and feats of generations of officers and soldiers of the Dien Bien Police Security Force.
At the same time, he requested the force to continue to promote the glorious tradition, maintain political bravery, proactively grasp the situation, advise on effectively handling national security issues, and meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation.
Major General Vu Van Dau - Director of Dien Bien Provincial Police affirmed that the Provincial Police Security Force will continue to promote its core role in ensuring national security, always being a reliable support, an effective arm of the Party Committee, government and people of Dien Bien province.
On this occasion, 18 individuals were awarded the Fatherland Protection Order, Third Class, by the President for their outstanding achievements in protecting national security.
