On April 19, information from Hoa An Commune Police (Cao Bang province) said that the unit had just completed procedures and handed over 2 motorbikes to people after a vehicle confusion incident occurred in the Nuoc Hai market area.
According to initial information, at about 8 am on April 18, Ms. Nguyen Thanh H. (born 1969, residing in Hoang Bo street, Hoa An commune) drove a Honda Vision motorbike, reddish-brown color to the Nuoc Hai market area to buy votive paper to serve Thanh Minh Tet.
After buying it, Ms. H. returned and discovered that her motorbike had "disappeared", replaced by another motorbike of the same color.
Suspecting signs of abnormality, Ms. H. quickly reported to Hoa An Commune Police. Upon receiving the report, the police force urgently verified information from the remaining vehicle at the scene.
Through verification, functional agencies determined that the car left behind belonged to Mr. Dam Van D. (born 1974, residing in Thanh Hung hamlet, Hoa An commune).
At the time of the incident, Mr. D. lent his granddaughter a motorbike to go to the market and bought goods at the same store as Ms. H.
Because the two vehicles have many similar characteristics, in the context of the crowded market area, Mr. D.'s niece carelessly led Ms. H.'s motorbike and drove it home.
Notably, Ms. H. leaving the key in the car trunk unintentionally created conditions for confusion to occur.
After clarifying the incident, Hoa An Commune Police invited relevant parties to work, and at the same time proceeded to return the vehicle to the correct owner, ensuring the legitimate rights of the people.
From the above incident, the police force recommends that people do not leave their keys on the car or in the trunk when leaving the vehicle, even for a short time.
At the same time, it is necessary to pay attention to remembering the characteristics and license plates of vehicles, especially when parking in crowded areas such as markets and festivals.
