Regarding the incident of a Dien Lam Commune Police officer, Khanh Hoa province, sacrificing himself while on duty, on the afternoon of March 21, representatives of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police said that units are coordinating with the family to organize the funeral and memorial service for Captain Nguyen Xuan Hai.
At the same time, Khanh Hoa Provincial Police also proposed that the Ministry of Public Security implement policies and regimes for Captain Nguyen Xuan Hai according to the regulations of the People's Police force.
According to Khanh Hoa Provincial Police, implementing a peak campaign to attack and suppress crime, ensure security and order of the Provincial Police and the plan to fight, prevent and handle illegal sand mining acts on the Cai River section passing through the area.
At 0:40 on March 21, the working group of Dien Lam Commune Police, including Captain Nguyen Xuan Hai (born in 1993) and Captain Nguyen Ngoc Hai (born in 1995) during patrol, discovered a raft mining sand near the Cai River bank in Dong Tran 3 village, Dien Lam commune.
When detecting the police force, the sand mining subjects on the raft (identity unknown) moved the raft to the middle of the river and ran away.
In the process of preventing the actions of the subjects to keep the violating vehicle to serve the verification and handling work, Captain Nguyen Xuan Hai went missing on the river.
Immediately after receiving the news, Major General Nguyen Huu Phuoc - Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police directed functional forces to quickly organize search and rescue and conduct investigation activities to clarify the incident.
At 7:37 am on the same day, functional forces found the body of Captain Nguyen Xuan Hai, about 100 m from the location of the incident.
