As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, at the end of 2024, the authorities simultaneously inspected 6 bean sprout production facilities in Buon Ma Thuot city (Dak Lak province).
Through inspection, the subjects confessed that in the process of producing bean sprouts, lime, well water and a type of colorless liquid were used. The type of colorless liquid is often called "candy" water by the subjects.
According to the Economic Police Department, Dak Lak Provincial Police, "candy" water is the active ingredient 6-Benzylaminopurine. This active ingredient is not on the list of permitted use in food production and the list of pesticides permitted for use in Vietnam.
By January 2025, Dak Lak Provincial Police had dismantled a large-scale fake fertilizer production and trading ring.
Thereby, arrested Nguyen Thi Cam My (41 years old - General Director of Nam Duong Fertilizer Trading Joint Stock Company, Binh Dinh province), Bui Minh Chanh (43 years old, General Director of Hoa Ky International Fertilizer Group Joint Stock Company - VINA, Long An province) and accomplices.
Next, Dak Lak Provincial Police discovered and handled 2 large-scale cases of production and trading of counterfeit coffee powder. The main ingredients of coffee products loved by their producers are coffee shells, soybeans and additives.
