The working group aims to promptly maintain and ensure good security and order in Phu Quoc City when there is no longer a district-level police organization from March 1, 2025.
Decision No. 2222/QD-CAT-PV01 dated March 1, 2025 on the establishment of a Steering Committee for security and order in Phu Quoc City. The task of directing, inspecting, urging, and guiding the professional departments of the Provincial Police and the Police of communes and wards in Phu Quoc City to continue to effectively implement documents of the Ministry of Public Security, the Provincial Party Committee, and the Provincial People's Committee related to the work of ensuring security and order, fighting and preventing crimes; especially Resolution 31 dated November 24, 2022 of the Provincial Party Committee on strengthening leadership and direction to ensure security and order in the city and Resolution No. 249 dated July 11, 2022 of the Provincial Police Party Committee on strengthening the work of ensuring security and order in the city.
Direct solutions to ensure security and order, prevent and combat all types of social evils; investigate, handle and thoroughly eliminate criminal gangs, not allowing the formation of new gangs. Improve the effectiveness of state management in implementing Project 06 of the Government. Review and comprehensively rectify basic professional work, basic investigation work, management of areas, residents, temporary residents, serving well the work of preventing crimes and law violations in Phu Quoc City.

The group is responsible for organizing the implementation of measures and plans to ensure security and order in the area according to the assignment of the Steering Committee. At the announcement ceremony, Colonel Nguyen Van Han - Director of Kien Giang Provincial Police - emphasized: The establishment of the Working Group with the highest goal of maintaining stability in the political security situation, social order and safety in Phu Quoc City, contributing to the development of the socio-economy, foreign affairs, especially tourism.
The Director of the Provincial Police Department requested the leaders of the Public Security agencies of units and localities to be determined, further enhance their spirit and responsibility in their work, and focus on performing well the key tasks. Based on the actual situation in the area, the working group urgently proposed specific plans and solutions, arranged forces and means to deploy, effectively implement the work of ensuring security, order, and fighting against crimes in the area with a proactive spirit, not allowing complicated incidents to occur. Strengthen coordination in exchanging information between the police force and departments, branches, and unions; professional units with the police of communes and wards on the situation of security, order, subjects, gangs, and criminal groups, thereby proactively preventing, detecting, and handling them promptly.
Regularly inspect, urge, and guide the implementation and implementation of security, order, crime prevention and control at the grassroots level, resolutely handle cases of lack of responsibility or acts of condoning and protection for criminals.
