According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, recently at the construction site of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project, the units have promoted the implementation of 3 shifts, 4 teams. The total number of construction teams is currently 32, with a total of 147 construction equipment.
Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - a construction worker of package XL02 at the Rach Mieu 2 bridge project - shared: "At the construction site, there are hot and humid days, or sudden rains that force everyone to stop working... However, with the spirit of striving for construction, the workers always take advantage of the nice weather, quickly eat a bowl of rice to continue working, making up for the time they have to stop when it is hot and rainy, to ensure the committed construction progress, striving to complete the Rach Mieu 2 bridge project on the occasion of National Day in 2025".
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tuan - Technical Officer of Bac Trung Nam Infrastructure Construction Joint Stock Company - shared that this is the rainy season but with the spirit of "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain", the construction unit has implemented many measures to speed up the completion of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project on the occasion of National Day in 2025.
"Currently, the team of workers are working hard, the atmosphere at the construction site is very urgent and exciting to complete on schedule according to the Prime Minister's instructions," said Mr. Tuan.
As of December 9, the overall progress of the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project has reached more than 71%, 0.49% faster than planned. The main cable-stayed bridge Rach Mieu 2 is 16% ahead of schedule. Currently, 3 bridges including My Tho, Tam Son and Ba Lai have been completed, while the remaining 3 bridges are under construction: Xoai Hot, Rach Mieu 2 and Song Ma bridges. Of which, the contractors are striving to basically complete the Xoai Hot and Song Ma bridges in 2024.
For the main cable-stayed bridge section of Rach Mieu 2, on October 24, 100% of the towers P19 and P20 were completed. The bridge deck has completed the girder block up to K5, this block has 14 blocks at the cable-stayed pillars P19 and P20. Along with that, the contractor has installed and tensioned the cable-stayed cable of girder block K6 for 56/112 cable bundles, and is deploying the installation of reinforcement for girder block K6.
The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Project starts at the intersection of National Highway 1 and Provincial Road 870 in Chau Thanh District, Tien Giang Province, and ends at National Highway 60 at the Ham Luong Bridge approach road in Ben Tre Province. The project has a scale of 4 lanes, a design speed of 80km/h, and is expected to be completed in 2025. When the Rach Mieu Bridge Project is completed, it will contribute to reducing traffic congestion at the existing Rach Mieu Bridge, reducing the load on National Highway 1.
