Urgent construction
These days, recorded at the construction site in the runway and taxiway area of Lien Khuong airport (Duc Trong commune), project items are being constructed simultaneously.

Hundreds of officials, engineers, and workers along with many mechanical equipment are mobilized to accelerate the progress of the Lien Khuong airport upgrade project.
According to records, more than 20 large excavators were deployed at many construction sites, continuously scraping the degraded asphalt layer. Nearly 50 dump trucks transported soil, rocks, and waste to serve site clearance.

At the locations where the foundation has been treated, rollers are deployed to level and compact, preparing for the construction of the new surface layer.
Representatives of the construction unit said that, taking advantage of favorable weather, the contractors are continuously organizing construction, ensuring progress and quality of the project.
Mr. Nguyen Cao Cuong - Deputy General Director of Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) - said that the unit has focused resources, organized scientific construction, strictly controlled quality, labor safety and environment, and strived to complete the project on schedule.
Proactively adapt to the summer tourist season
The temporary suspension of operation of Lien Khuong airport during the upgrade period is determined to affect tourism activities, especially during the peak summer season.
However, according to experts, this is also an opportunity for the Lam Dong tourism industry to restructure the market and expand regional links.

Mr. Tuong Huu Loc - Head of Lam Dong Travel Association - said that in all circumstances, Da Lat is still a popular destination for tourists thanks to its climate, landscape and unique identity.
Travel agencies are implementing many solutions and services to serve tourists in the upcoming summer tourist season.
According to tourism experts, the temporary suspension of airport operations will reduce the number of passengers, especially high-end passengers, international passengers and MICE passengers.

Faced with this reality, the locality focuses on strengthening road connectivity and accelerating key traffic routes.
At the same time, sea-to-plateau tourism routes, if organized methodically, are not only a short-term solution but also contribute to extending the length of stay and increasing tourist spending.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Loc - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province, during the temporary airport closure period, the locality is focusing on exploiting the road passenger market, especially from Ho Chi Minh City and the Southeast provinces, the South Central Coast and the Central Highlands region.
At the same time, promote the development of regional-linked tourism products in the direction of "one journey - multiple experiences", connecting Da Lat with destinations such as Nha Trang, Phan Thiet, Ta Dung to extend the length of stay and increase tourist spending.
Lam Dong possesses diverse tourism resources, from high-tech agriculture, nature to culture, history, sports and cuisine.
In addition, service quality and people's service attitude are important factors contributing to attracting and retaining tourists.
Experts believe that optimizing existing transport infrastructure, improving service quality and experience will be an important factor to maintain the attractiveness of Lam Dong tourism in this period.
