Under the bright lights of the construction site day and night, the hurried footsteps do not stop. The sound of roller and bulldozer engines harmonizing with the decisive command of engineers creates a characteristic "harmonic" at the construction site. At many construction sites on the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project (section passing through An Giang province), the working atmosphere is always in a state of urgency and continuity.
Mr. Hoang Quoc Viet - bulldozer operator - shared that expressway construction does not have the concept of normal hours. When needed, brothers have to work through noon, even at night. Everyone determines that this is a large project, so they must try their best to meet the schedule.

For many workers, the construction site is now not only a workplace but also a "second home". Mr. Duong Van Huy - technical team of package 42 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project - said that the work is entering a tight stage, so the brothers limit asking for leave. "If you miss home, just call home. We work for the long-term future, for the common project, so everyone tries to complete on schedule," Mr. Huy said.
Captain Tran Minh Thanh - Deputy Director of the Truong Son 11 Steering Committee (12th Corps) - said that to ensure progress, the construction site is organized in flexible shifts and teams. During the day, natural light is maximized, at night, lighting is increased to maintain continuous construction. Many construction fronts are deployed in parallel to shorten time.
We identify this as a national key project, so maintaining the construction pace is a vital factor. The contractor has mobilized maximum manpower and equipment, and at the same time has a regime of encouragement and support so that workers can feel secure in their work," Captain Tran Minh Thanh shared.
According to Mr. Thanh, there are currently about 150 officials, engineers, and workers on the construction site, along with nearly 100 vehicles, machinery, and equipment mobilized. Taking advantage of favorable weather conditions, the unit organizes continuous construction according to the motto "3 shifts, 4 crews", working day and night.

Up to now, package 42 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project has reached a construction volume of more than 73.8%. To ensure completion and traffic opening of the entire route on June 30, 2026 according to the direction of the Prime Minister, many construction teams and teams are arranged to work flexibly. At night, under the traffic lights of the construction site, vehicles carrying materials still line up to enter and exit. Construction teams are continuously deployed, both ensuring progress and maintaining technical quality and labor safety," Captain Tran Minh Thanh informed.

In the context of urgent construction, labor safety is always put first. Workers are fully equipped with protective gear before starting shifts such as hats, reflective jackets, and specialized shoes. Warning signs and barriers are also arranged in dangerous areas. Safety supervision teams regularly inspect and remind to minimize risks.
Mr. Nguyen The Anh - technical staff at package 42 (section through An Giang province) - said: "Progress is important, but safety is even more important. We always remind brothers not to be subjective, even if it's just a small detail. Thanks to that, to date, many items are being constructed quickly and ensuring safety for workers.
