Accordingly, the handover of 25,484 hectares of land belonging to the original Sa Phin gold mine was carried out in the field according to the location and boundaries of the land plot according to Decision No. 3494 dated December 24, 2024 of the People's Committee of Lao Cai province on land recovery of Nhan Joint Stock Company.
At the handover ceremony, representatives of Hoang Lien - Van Ban Nature Reserve Forest Protection Department, Van Ban District Protection Forest Project Management Board, Nam Xay Commune People's Committee and Nhan Joint Stock Company together checked and compared the landmarks between the land records and the actual landmarks to ensure accurate coordinates and boundaries.
The parties also identified the shortcomings that Nhan Joint Stock Company needs to comply with and overcome in the coming time, which is to hand over the original Land Use Rights Certificate and legal documents related to the handover of the recovered area.
Along with that, Nhan Joint Stock Company is responsible for handling assets on the land that the Provincial People's Committee has decided to reclaim such as the operating house, warehouse, housing for staff and workers, canteen, roof of the crushing and selection area, processing house, etc.; organizing environmental renovation and restoration for the construction area of items that have not been moved.
It is known that previously, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment granted a mineral exploitation license to Mineral Joint Stock Company 3 to exploit gold in the Sa Phin area, Nam Xay commune (Van Ban district, Lao Cai).
Then, in December 2015, Mineral Joint Stock Company 3 transferred the project to Nhan Joint Stock Company (headquartered in Phan Dinh Phung ward, Thai Nguyen city) as a collateral, with the exploitation term until July 4, 2024.
To facilitate the management and exploitation of minerals including gold of Sa Phin mine, this Nhan Joint Stock Company established a branch in Lao Cai.
On August 19, 2016, due to the impact of storms and floods, a serious landslide occurred at the Sa Phin gold mine, burying at least 11 gold miners working in the area managed by Nhan Joint Stock Company.
