Accelerate construction to keep up with progress
On August 27, the Vung Tau Construction Investment Project Management Board - the investor of the Thuy Van Street renovation project (HCMC) - said that the construction of Thuy Van Square with a total area of over 16,300m2 has been completed. The unit has handed over the site to the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City to organize an event to celebrate National Day on September 2.
It is known that the Thuy Van road renovation project has a total investment of more than 1,094 billion VND, including the renovation of Thuy Van road, Thuy Van park with the square as the center. In particular, the highlight is Tam Thang Tower, with more than 143 towers from over 3m to over 30m high, which has been completed.
The fountain area, square yard, walking path and architecture are paved with granite and burnt basalt; along with a system of trees, grass, lighting... have also been completed.
In addition, the Thuy Van Park site is about 3.2km long on a total area of 19.2 hectares; along with 6 underground public service stations, each station is over 1,000m2 wide (with the functions of freshwater bathing, storage and changing of clothes, sanitation and storage...) arranged along the beach and other utilities that have been completed and installed with equipment and materials before. The above-ground part of these stations with the architecture of the Fishing Village, Con Cau, Oc bien, May, Cay, Gio Gas along with the beach rescue observation post has also been completed.
"Thus, the construction and handover of the site has ensured progress according to the plan. Thereby, the competent authority will organize solemn events to celebrate the National Day on September 2, and at the same time organize the inauguration of Thuy Van Park and the square," said Mr. Doan Hai Linh - Director of the Vung Tau Construction Investment Project Management Board.

The Bai Sau area is also arranged with 5 pedestrian tunnels across Thuy Van Street. Currently, the first pedestrian tunnel (built from public investment capital) near the Thuy Van - Hoang Hoa Tham intersection has been completed and is ready to be put into use. Some other pedestrian tunnels invested with socialized capital are also being implemented.
After the inauguration, the public service stations and utility works on the Thuy Van Park site will be handed over to the management unit according to regulations, to serve people and tourists swimming in the sea.
According to the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, on the occasion of National Day on September 2, a fireworks display will be held to celebrate and Thuy Van Square is one of 4 locations for fireworks displays in the area with both high and low-altitude fireworks, from 9:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. on September 2. Before that, Thuy Van Park inauguration ceremony and a special live TV show will also take place, celebrating National Day on September 2, serving people and tourists.
The People's Committee of Vung Tau Ward has also issued a plan and assigned relevant departments and units to organize the celebration event in the area. Thereby, the locality has surveyed, arranged and arranged appropriate parking lots to ensure traffic safety; inspected to ensure urban order; coordinated to organize traffic flow... as well as implemented solutions to ensure safety throughout the event.
