Information circulating on social media about traffic police holding a violator's vehicle while he was taking his wife to the emergency room is false.

On the evening of January 23, 2025, a clip appeared on Facebook with the title "Husband rushed his wife to the emergency room without a helmet, the traffic police held her motorbike and left her alone for nearly 30 minutes without anyone taking her to the emergency room." Hanoi City Police confirmed that this information is incorrect.

According to Hanoi Police, at around 8:30 a.m. on January 14, 2025, at the Ngoc Hoi - Do Muoi intersection in Hoang Liet Ward (Hoang Mai District, Hanoi), Special Task Force No. 8 of the City Police stopped and checked a case of a motorbike driver without a helmet, carrying a woman behind. This motorbike had no license plate and no rearview mirror.

During the inspection, the motorcyclist (born in 1994, residing in Phu Xuyen district, Hanoi) could not present the vehicle registration or driver's license.

After the task force drew up the violation report, the car owner read it but did not sign it and went outside the violation handling area to sit with the woman. About 30 minutes later, the woman showed signs of fatigue, the task force called a taxi and assigned an officer in the task force to take the two people to Bach Mai Hospital.

Afterwards, the staff in the Working Group returned to their positions to continue their duties.

Regarding the vehicle owner's violation, the Working Group has drawn up a record of administrative violation, a record of temporary detention of evidence of administrative violation vehicle, a record of vehicle sealing, temporary detention of evidence and vehicle in accordance with legal regulations.
