Information from the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) of Hanoi City Police, the unit is coordinating with the Department of Construction and related agencies to review and adjust traffic organization on major bridges of the Capital.
According to the Hanoi Traffic Police Department, Nhat Tan, Thang Long, Vinh Tuy, Thanh Tri bridges... are key traffic routes, connecting the inner city area with the suburban areas and neighboring provinces.
Due to the large traffic volume and high travel speed, ensuring traffic safety on these bridge routes is always of particular concern.
Reality shows that there is still a situation where vehicle drivers speed, do not maintain a safe distance, go in the wrong lane or suddenly change lanes, and do not turn on traffic lights. These violations can lead to chain accidents and also cause prolonged traffic jams on bridge routes.

To limit the risk of accidents, the Hanoi Traffic Police Department has advised the City Police to coordinate with functional units to review traffic organization, initially focusing on Nhat Tan bridge.
Accordingly, at Nhat Tan bridge, functional forces will focus on inspecting and supplementing the system of directional signs, distance warnings, speed limits and road markings, thereby clearly defining the road section and lane for each type of vehicle.
Along with completing infrastructure, the Hanoi Traffic Police Department will strengthen propaganda and guide people to comply with regulations. After a period of propaganda, functional forces will promote inspection and handle cases of intentional violations with surveillance cameras, combined with mobile patrols.
Violations of traffic order and safety reflected by people will also be received, verified and handled by the Hanoi Traffic Police Department according to regulations.

Based on the results of deployment at Nhat Tan bridge, the traffic review and organization plan will be studied and replicated at other large bridges such as Thang Long, Vinh Tuy, Thanh Tri.
Hanoi Traffic Police Department recommends that people when traveling on the bridge should comply with speed, pay attention to traffic signs, traffic lights and road markings; maintain a safe distance from vehicles in front, drive in the correct lane and do not change lanes suddenly.
Strict compliance with traffic regulations not only helps limit accidents and congestion but also contributes to ensuring safety for traffic participants and building a civilized traffic image of the Capital.
