Information from the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) - Ministry of Public Security, on the evening of January 7, 2026, implementing the order and direction of the Director of the Traffic Police Department, the Traffic Police force of 34/34 localities nationwide simultaneously deployed thematic alcohol concentration control in the same time frame, from 7:00 PM to 12:00 PM, on road traffic routes.
In 5 hours of peak control, the traffic police force inspected 37,568 vehicles participating in traffic. Through control, functional forces discovered 1,811 cases of alcohol concentration violations, mainly motorbike drivers (1,710 cases).
In addition, the traffic police force also discovered 697 cases without driver's licenses, 567 cases without vehicle registration, and dozens of cases of violating regulations on vehicle safety equipment.
As a result, after 5 hours of deployment, 1,811 vehicles were temporarily seized and 217 driver's licenses were revoked according to regulations.
Notably, during the time frame for issuing alcohol concentration control orders, there were still 02 traffic accidents related to alcohol and beer nationwide, causing 01 death and 01 injury. These two accidents occurred in Vinh Long and Ho Chi Minh City provinces, each locality recorded one case.

According to the Traffic Police Department, the fact that the entire traffic police force nationwide jointly launched a campaign to control a specialized violation at the same time is not a single peak activity, but will be maintained regularly and continuously, even during holidays and Tet.
Right on the morning of the 1st day of the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo, the national traffic police force will continue to simultaneously check alcohol concentration. The goal is clearly defined as gradually forming and strengthening the habit of participating in safe traffic in society, with the consistent message "If you drink alcohol, don't drive".
