Throughout the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, the Traffic Police Department of Gia Lai Provincial Police mobilized maximum forces, organized 24/24h closed patrols and inspections throughout the area, focusing on handling violations that are direct causes of traffic accidents, especially alcohol and drug concentration violations, in order to ensure traffic order and safety.
Recording the days leading up to Tet on National Highway 1A passing through Tuy Phuoc commune, the working groups of Tuy Phuoc Traffic Police Station (under the Traffic Police Department of Gia Lai Provincial Police) flexibly deployed between setting up fixed checkpoints and mobile patrols. In a short time, functional forces have detected and handled many cases of high alcohol concentration violations.

Typically, Mr. Nguyen Cong Th. (born in 1981, residing in An Nhon Nam ward, Gia Lai province) was driving a motorbike with signs of drunkenness, intending to run away when asked to stop the vehicle for alcohol concentration testing. After being propagated and mobilized, Mr. Th. complied with the test. The measurement results showed that Mr. Th. violated the maximum alcohol concentration, with 0.623 mg/l of breath.
Mr. Th. stated that during Tet days, his children and grandchildren returned in large numbers, so he drank alcohol and beer and subjectively thought that he was still sober enough to drive. "After this time, I will not dare to drink alcohol and then drive anymore, to maintain health and family happiness," Mr. Th. committed.
Before the traffic police force launched patrols and controls throughout the Tet holidays, many traffic participants expressed their agreement, especially with alcohol and drug concentration checks - behaviors considered to be the direct cause of many tragic accidents.
Mr. Nguyen Van An (resident of Tuy Phuoc commune) shared that during Tet days, wishing each other a few glasses of wine and beer is inevitable, but driving after drinking alcohol is very dangerous.
Many people know this clearly but are still subjective or intentionally violate. Personally, I fully support traffic police strengthening alcohol and drug concentration checks during Tet. When I have drunk alcohol, I will definitely not drive," Mr. An said.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Trung Hieu - Head of Tuy Phuoc Traffic Police Station - said that during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, the traffic volume on National Highway 1A increased sharply, posing many risks of traffic unsafety. To prevent accidents, the unit deploys 100% of personnel, organizes patrols and inspections 24/7, encloses the area, focusing on strictly handling violations of alcohol and drug concentration.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Vang - Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department of Gia Lai Provincial Police, throughout the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, the entire patrol and control force is arranged to be 100% on duty on each route, each time frame, not to be passive or surprised in any situation.
We focus on controlling groups of violations with high risks leading to traffic accidents such as alcohol concentration violations, drugs, speeding... At the same time, maintaining a standing force, ready to promptly handle arising situations, especially traffic accidents and congestion due to increased traffic volume, ensuring smooth and safe traffic for people during Tet," Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Vang said.
Through records, at many key gateway and intersection routes on National Highways 1, 14, 19, 25, traffic police forces are regularly deployed to promptly detect and handle violations, and at the same time proactively regulate traffic when the traffic volume increases.
Along with controlling and handling violations, the traffic police force also promotes propaganda and reminds traffic participants to strictly comply with the provisions of the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety, contributing to ensuring people celebrate Tet safely and peacefully.
