The information was announced by Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Binh - Deputy Head of Traffic Police Department (PC08) of Ho Chi Minh City Police, on the afternoon of August 29 at the information provision session on ensuring traffic order and safety during the September 2 holiday.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Binh said that PC08 has advised the City Police Department to issue a comprehensive plan to ensure traffic order and safety during the September 2 holiday this year.
The Traffic Police Department will mobilize all forces to the maximum, focusing on key routes and areas, gateway areas, bus stations, train stations, airports and places where cultural and entertainment activities take place.
Through the review, the authorities noted that the city currently has more than 300 points at risk of congestion. At these locations, the traffic police coordinated with local police, youth volunteers and grassroots security forces to organize regulation, traffic flow, and limit prolonged congestion.
In addition, the Traffic Police Department also coordinates with infrastructure management units and traffic monitoring centers to promptly grasp the situation and adjust the plan when necessary.
"Starting at 2:00 p.m. on August 29, all forces of the Traffic Police Department were mobilized to fight at key intersections. The force is on duty 24/7 to regulate, prevent congestion, and support people to travel safely and smoothly," said Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Binh.
Notably, in addition to the surveillance camera system directly connected to the center, Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Police also deployed the use of flycams to observe traffic from above. These devices support the rapid detection of arising situations, timely operation and handling.
At the same time, the authorities maintain a 24/7 hotline to receive feedback from people about traffic conditions, accidents, and incidents on the road. This information will be processed and responded to quickly to ensure the rights and safety of the people.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Binh recommends: "Each citizen needs to become a smart traffic participant, proactively grasp information, choose a suitable route, comply with the law and instructions of the authorities. This will both help ensure personal safety and help keep the city's traffic smooth during the peak holiday days".
