On May 11, Trung Thuan Commune Police (Quang Tri province) said that they had just coordinated with forest rangers and local authorities to receive and release a rare wild animal into the natural environment.
Previously, Mr. Hoang Xuan Tam (born 1963, residing in hamlet 1, Phu Luu village, Trung Thuan commune) discovered an animal suspected of being a loris climbing on his house door.
Realizing that this is a wild animal that needs to be protected, Mr. Tam quickly reported it to the Trung Thuan Commune Police for coordination in handling.
After receiving the information, Trung Thuan Commune Police coordinated with the forest ranger force to inspect and determined that this was a culi individual belonging to a group of rare and precious wild animals that needed to be strictly managed and protected.
Through health checks, the culi individual was eligible, so functional forces organized to release it back to the natural forest environment in accordance with regulations.
According to Trung Thuan Commune Police, this is the second time in recent times that people in the area have discovered and voluntarily handed over the culi individual to release back to nature.
Functional forces assess that people's actions demonstrate a sense of responsibility in wildlife protection, contributing to preserving the ecosystem and protecting the natural environment.
Trung Thuan Commune Police also recommends that when people discover wild animals appearing in residential areas, falling into traps or being injured, they should promptly notify functional agencies for appropriate handling guidance; do not arbitrarily raise, buy, sell or infringe on wild animals in any form.
