At 7:30 p.m. on July 12, the leader of the People's Committee of Kon Tum Ward, Quang Ngai said he was present at the scene of a major fire on Le Loi Street. Currently, the fire police are trying to extinguish the fire.
Accordingly, at around 6:20 p.m., people discovered the fire starting from house number 24 Le Loi. Because the house was locked on the left door, people could not enter.
People quickly reported the incident to the fire prevention and fighting police - Quang Ngai Provincial Police.
After receiving the report, the police arrived at the scene, using three water trucks and vehicles to put out the fire.
However, this house was a paint shop, so the fire broke out very strongly. The fire was dozens of meters high, the smoke column was so high that it was still visible from a few kilometers away.
Due to the fierce fire, the fire quickly spread to two houses next to it. However, thanks to the people in the area's support for the two families to move their belongings outside as soon as the fire broke out, the damage was significantly reduced and the fire was prevented from spreading more.
Through initial assessment, the leader of Kon Tum Ward People's Committee said that the store owner had just closed the door outside for a while when the fire broke out. The cause of the incident is not yet clear.
Regarding the information that people heard many loud explosions, the leader of Kon Tum Ward People's Committee confirmed that it was correct. The explosions that people heard were caused by burnt paint bins, not explosives or any other unusual factor - said the leader of Kon Tum ward.
By 7:30 p.m., the fire was basically under control. The most dangerous area was the back of the house (the warehouse containing a large amount of paint) when the fire was basically extinguished.
The fire is still smoldering because the house has too many flammable items inside. Fire police are continuing to make efforts to completely extinguish the fire.
There were no human casualties in the fire. Property damage is being counted.
