On July 12, the Institute of Geophysics said that at 5:25 a.m., a 3.3-magnitude earthquake occurred at a location with a coordinates of 14,800 degrees North latitude, 108.257 degrees East longitude; the focal depth of the impact was about 8.1 km. The earthquake occurred in Mang But commune, Quang Ngai province. Natural disaster risk level: level 0.

Previously, on July 7 and 8, in Kon Plong and Son Ky communes (Quang Ngai province), there were also many earthquakes of equal intensity of 3.3 and 2.6 respectively. These earthquakes do not pose a natural disaster risk.
The area of Mang Den commune, Quang Ngai province is currently the administrative boundary of three communes: Mang Canh, Dak Tang and Mang Den town (Kon Plong district, old Kon Tum province). This is an area that has been regularly recorded as having earthquakes since 2021.
The largest was the earthquake that occurred at noon on July 28, 2024, with a magnitude of 5.0 on the scale. Previously, on August 23, 2022, the area also recorded a 4.7 earthquake.
