On December 13, the Internal Political Security Department (PA03) of Quang Tri Provincial Police said that through professional work, the unit coordinated with functional forces to detect illegal television viewing services on the internet.
During the verification process, the authorities clarified that the violator was N.V.H (born in 1996, from Ba Long commune; registered permanent residence in Le Ninh commune). The unit collected documents and evidence and invited H to work.
At the authorities, H admitted to buying a virtual computer account (VPS) through groups on Telegram to set up a website with the main domain name "hntv1.live" and the sub-domain name "vuikhoetv.online".
From these 2 pages, H provided access to 1,779 TV channels of many domestic and foreign suppliers without paying copyright fees; at the same time, created "user" accounts to resell to users for 250,000 VND/year. According to the determination, the amount of illegal profits is more than 29 million VND.
After clarifying the violation, PA03 advised the Provincial Police to propose that the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee issue a decision to administratively sanction N.V.H with a fine of more than 81 million VND and an illegal profit of more than 29 million VND, a total of more than 110 million VND.
N.V.H was aware of the violation, voluntarily complied with the penalty decision and pledged not to repeat the offense.
