On January 13, the Nha Trang Beach Rescue and Rescue Team (Nha Trang Bay Management Board, Khanh Hoa province) promptly rescued a foreign tourist swept away by waves while swimming in Nha Trang beach in bad weather conditions.
On the same morning, a Russian male tourist, 55 years old, went swimming in the sea area opposite 62 Tran Phu street (Nha Trang ward) at a time of rough seas and big waves.
During the bathing process, this tourist was suddenly swept away by waves, fell into deep water and showed signs of drowning.
Immediately upon discovering the incident, Nha Trang beach rescue forces quickly approached the scene, brought the victim ashore safely, performed initial first aid and contacted the 115 Emergency Center for medical support. Currently, the tourist's health has gradually stabilized.
According to the Nha Trang Bay Management Board, in recent days, the coastal area of Nha Trang has experienced strong winds, big waves, and fierce sea waves, posing a potential risk of unsafety for people and tourists when swimming in the sea.
Faced with the above situation, the Nha Trang Bay Management Board recommends that people and tourists absolutely do not go swimming in Nha Trang beach when the weather changes badly; strictly comply with the system of signal flags, warning loudspeakers as well as instructions from rescue forces to ensure safety of life.
Despite the harsh weather conditions, the Nha Trang beach rescue force still maintains 100% of its personnel, strengthens patrols and surveillance along the Tran Phu - Pham Van Dong coastline, ready to respond and promptly handle possible emergency situations.
