On April 2, information from the Border Guard of Thanh Hoa province said that the Nghi Son port border gate force had just promptly rescued 5 crew members in distress at sea.

Previously, at 10:00 AM on April 1st, the Nghi Son Port Border Guard Command (Thanh Hoa Border Guard) received a report that ship numbered ND 4305 captained by Mr. Nguyen Tuan Cuong (born 1977, from Xuan Hung commune, Ninh Binh province), along with 4 crew members, was transporting sand from Ben Thuy port (Nghe An) to Ninh Binh when an incident occurred at sea.
When arriving at buoy N6 area, about 500m from PTSC port in Nghi Son ward, Thanh Hoa province, the ship encountered big waves, water damaged the hold, causing the vehicle to sink.
Immediately after receiving the news, the Nghi Son Port Border Guard Command urgently mobilized ships and 10 officers and soldiers to coordinate with Thanh Hoa Maritime Administration to deploy rescue and relief work.
Functional forces have approached the scene and promptly brought the captain and 4 crew members ashore safely.
Currently, the health of the crew members has stabilized. The cause of the incident is being verified and clarified by functional forces.
