Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 3 (Yagi), on September 8, the Coast Guard Command mobilized ship CSB 8004 and 2 boats CSB 721, 722 (Command of Coast Guard Region 1) to search and rescue in the areas of Titop, Hon Phao Trong, and Phao Ngoai (Quang Ninh).
Coast Guard boats approached the Duy Manh 19 (QN 7910) ship that drifted into the mountain near the Bach Dang 68 ship; the HP 5618 2-crane barge with a broken tug drifted into the Phao Ngoai island; the HD 8698 2-crane barge crashed into the mountain and ran aground; the Thanh Loc 01 barge (HD6588) drifted and ran aground in the area behind the Phao Ngoai island; the Viet Thuan 10 barge ran aground and crashed into the mountain, the tug sank...
Currently, 43 crew members have been safely brought onto CSB 8004, and all crew members are in stable health. CSB 8004 and 2 boats 721 and 722 are continuing to search and rescue in the above areas.
In a related development, at 11:30 a.m. on September 8, 17 fishermen were handed over to the local authorities by Brigade 170 (Naval Region 1) and brought home safely.
The Navy said that at around 10:30 a.m. on September 7, while avoiding storm No. 3 (Yagi) in the Tung Sau lagoon area, forces of Brigade 170 (Navy Region 1) rescued 2 people working at Ha Long Pearl Joint Stock Company.
Along with that, the search and rescue force of Brigade 170 under the command of the Command Center rescued 11 people trapped in the mountains in the Hon Ram Bac area, belonging to Viet Thuan Transport Company Limited.
