On June 19, the Railway Transport Joint Stock Company sent a document to the People's Committee of Quang Tri province on the plan to organize train runs to serve cadres, civil servants and public employees (CBCCVC) on the Dong Ha - Dong Hoi route, starting from July 1, 2025.
Accordingly, based on the consensus results at the meeting on the same day between the People's Committee of Quang Tri province and Vietnam Railway Corporation, the unit plans to organize train runs every Monday to Friday.
The two trains with registration number DH2/ DH1 include 9 cars (maximum 448 seats), DH2 train departs from Dong Ha station at 5:30 am to Dong Hoi station at 7:25 am; in the opposite direction, DH1 train departs from Dong Hoi station at 5:45 pm, to Dong Ha station at 7:45 pm. The railway is also studying the option of running one more pair of trains if demand increases.
In the first month of the trial run, tickets will be sold widely to passengers. The ticket price is 105,000 VND per trip. Passengers who buy a round-trip ticket will receive a 25% discount on the return ticket price, down to VND184,000/round-trip ticket. Social policy beneficiaries are subject to a reduction: students of 10%, the elderly from 60 years old and above 15%, people with disabilities, war invalids, sick soldiers of 30%, children under 6 years old are exempted from the fee if traveling with adults and children from 6 to 10 years old with a 25% discount on ticket prices.
The Railway Transport Joint Stock Company requested the People's Committee of Quang Tri province to support the propaganda and mobilization of civil servants and public employees to prioritize the use of trains as means of transportation between the two localities.
