On the afternoon of January 2, Mr. Nguyen Ba Son - Deputy Head of MRB said that the pilot urban railway project in Hanoi, Nhon - Hanoi station section, has reached 80.32% of the overall progress. Of which, the 8.5km elevated section, from station S1 to station S8, has been completed and put into commercial operation on August 8, 2024.
For the underground section (CP03 package), the progress reached 50.54%. Of which, TBM No. 1 has been in operation since July 30, 2024, and has so far drilled 647m, installing 431 tunnel lining rings. TBM No. 2 is expected to start construction in January 2025.
Regarding the project to build urban railway line No. 2, Nam Thang Long - Tran Hung Dao section, on December 16, 2024, the Prime Minister approved the adjustment of the investment policy. Currently, MRB is mobilizing consultants to complete the project adjustment dossier and submit it to the Hanoi People's Committee for approval.
Regarding land clearance, the depot area with an area to be recovered is 17.58ha, so far the agricultural land has been cleared. The land for agencies, defense land, and residential land is being counted.
For the elevated station, the investor and local authorities have cleared about 92% of the area. For the underground station, about 79% of the area has been cleared.
On June 21, 2024, MRB coordinated with the Railway Project Management Board (Ministry of Transport) to receive documents and files for Line 1 (Ngoc Hoi - Yen Vien).
The Standing Committee of the City Party Committee agreed on the policy of cooperation in researching the extended route 2A (Ha Dong - Xuan Mai) with China Railway Group 6 Limited Company.
For line 3.2 (Hanoi station - Hoang Mai), the Ministry of Planning and Investment has issued a document reporting that it is eligible for the Prime Minister to approve the proposal to use ODA capital. The Board is completing the procedures for selecting contractors for the technical assistance project.
Regarding route No. 5 (Van Cao - Hoa Lac), after the 2024 Capital Law takes effect, the Ministry of Planning and Investment will transfer the Pre-Feasibility Study Report to the city to continue implementation according to its authority.
