Da Nang is experiencing developing convective clouds in many communes, wards, coastal areas and Hoang Sa special zone. The meteorological agency warns of the risk of thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, hail, localized heavy rain and strong gusts of wind.
From the early afternoon of September 9, weather radar images of Tam Ky showed satellite cloud images and lightning positioning, convective clouds are existing in many areas of the city. Including Thanh My, Ben Giang, Dong Giang, Ben Hien, Song Kon, Thuong Duc, Hoa Vang, Ba Na, Hai Van, Que Son, Tien Phuoc, Phu Ninh, Hiep Duc, Tay Giang, Nam Giang, Nam Tra My, Nui Thanh, Hoi An Tay, Go Noi, Dien Ban Dong and Dien Ban.
From the warning time to the next 3 hours, these cloud areas will continue to cause showers and thunderstorms in the above areas. After that, convective clouds are likely to expand to Tra Lien, Tam Anh, Tam Xuan, Huong Tra, Tam Ky, Tra My, Kham Duc, Thu Bon, Duy Xuyen, Thang Binh, Dien Ban Bac, Dien Ban Tay and neighboring localities. This is a high mountainous area, with mountainous terrain, hills and streams.
The meteorological agency warns that thunderstorms, lightning, hail, localized heavy rain of about 30mm/hour and strong gusts of wind may occur during thunderstorms. The level of natural disaster risk due to thunderstorms, lightning, and hail is determined to be level 1.
In addition, in the afternoon and night of September 9, the area from Hue City to Da Nang City will have showers and scattered thunderstorms, common rainfall of 15-30mm, locally over 80mm.
On the day and night of September 10, the area from Thanh Hoa to Hue City, Central Highlands and Southern regions will continue to have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms. Common rainfall is 30-60mm, locally over 120mm.
Heavy rain can cause flooding in low-lying areas, urban areas, and industrial parks; and at the same time increase the risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams and landslides in steep slopes.
